We know the earlier experiments were done with Vero and HeLa cells and ORF8 chimeras in 2017 from the WIV and NUS and EHA and UNC group but we don’t know the story yet of how these two sets of Yu2018 experiments came to be so specifically place within GenBank.
We also don’t know what cell lines these ORF8abc SARSr experiments took place in…it could have been CSIRO cell lines that have not been disclosed to date.
What we do know is the later 25-OCT-2019 data set took the experiments and draft paper in a completely different direction that was less involved with Dual Use immune evasion ORF8 SARSr experiments and more to do with broad virus evolution themes that Holmes was assisting with…but the earlier experiments are perhaps not with Holmes and are instead with NUS and EHA and UNC and WIV again.
