Some work by Baric's colleague (Stanley Perlman of the University of Iowa) was reused by SARS2 designer. I didn't make that clear above, Drosten is innocent in this risky research, but more here from an older Andreas Lisewski interview:
This was the first time I heard about the Italian waste sample, but it was a partial sample collected from urine, not the entire ancestral genome like WA1.
WA1 is still the best-known "isolated" genome from a human. However, the isolated ancestral strains (Lineage A & B from the wet market, WA1, D614G) are all close together, separated by a few nucleotides or amino acids, and all the isolated strains transmit in Munster's lab animals.
Wow: "On the contrary, by collection date, the Milan isolate from 15 December 2019 is the first documented SARS-CoV-2 spike isolate globally, an isolate that already carries D614G (A23403G) and which was collected more than 2 weeks before any member of the WA1 lineage (including the earliest 30 Dec 2019 isolate Wuhan_IME-WH01). So, Wuhan probably was not the original source of SARS-CoV-2 introduction into the human population, and certainly not the earliest by collection date record."
Jim, do you think a US introduction is still possible? There was all this talk about mysterious nursing home outbreaks and bizarre vaping disease. The Chinese argued US military athletes may have brought the virus to Wuhan.

Honestly, I don't care when or where the virus emerged, since WA1 is still the best-known "isolated" genome from a human. However, the isolated ancestral strains (Lineage A & B from the wet market, WA1, D614G) are all close together, separated by a few nucleotides or amino acids, and all the isolated strains transmit in Munster's lab animals.
It's obviously NOT a virus. It is a lab created bioweapon. Let's finally start calling it what it really is for a change.
Contagious animal vaccines are just attenuated bioweapons:

Stop deflecting!
Millions of human deaths and injuries from a engineered bio-weapon is the topic!
Thanks Jim! If I understand properly:
- Some work by Drosten (2017) on MERS virus was reused by any SarsCov2 designer, for the FCS
- the strain in Italy would predate any so-called Wuhan strain.
Very interesting !

Per Korber et al, the first detection of D614G was January 24, 2020, in China (Sichuan)—that's the A23403G mutation shown here (figure S5)
