Gmail from Tony Fauci’s assistant

The Congressional committee asked Dr. David Morens (Fauci’s assistant) to release his private Gmails, but EcoHealth promptly released his emails. Morens wrote to Daszak in April 2020, “As a coda, Tony knows about your work…We will be doing what is possible to protect you and your research over the long haul.”

In April 2020, Daszak told Morens, “Please let them know that funds from this ($3M R01) grant aren’t just shipped over to China. Most of the money stays in the USA, and funds work at EcoHealth and UNC.” Morens replied, “Tony is fully aware…and involved in some damage control.”

Morens was subpoenaed because he quit cooperating. If Fauci’s assistant communicated via Gmail with Daszak, I think it’s safe to assume Fauci and NIAID funded Daszak’s revised version of DARPA Defuse. They just called it CREID.

The Congressional committee asked for Dr. Geral Keusch's emails. He’s listed next to Baric, Linfa, and Dani in the NIAID CREID documents. Keusch was part of the disbanded Lancet Origins Commission with Dani.

KGA fights back

Dr. Kristian G. Andersen defended himself against the former NYT science writer Donald McNeil. He claimed Andersen misled him about a potential lab leak early in the pandemic. Andersen released their emails, proving otherwise.

“This is shocking behavior from any reporter and the opposite of what one would (should) expect from a journalist interested in truthful reporting,” wrote Andersen.

After Shi published RaTG13 on Jan 24th, 2020, Andersen told Fauci the SARS2 genome “looks engineered” on Jan 31st. But Andersen backdated the RaTG13 publication until after the Feb 1st teleconference. He responded to my question below:

Yeah, this is one of the more peculiar conspiracy theories...This is simply a question of me doing a million different things at the time. My main analyses were focused on the human SARS2 sequences, which I got from GISAID (and where RaTG13 was also uploaded…all of this was moving fast…Before the conference call RaTG13 was included and I also believe that Christian Drosten included it in one of the emails prior to the call (but I had already included it by then).

Andersen sent a subliminal message highlighting his behind-the-scenes investigation involving Daszak and Baric as a public record. However, their DARPA Defuse grant was still a private record in February 2020.

The above letter was organized by Fauci, NIAID, and the National Academy of Science during the second coverup teleconference on Feb 3rd, 2020. In early 2020, Andersen received a $9M grant for the ongoing CREID project, so most assumed this was a “bribe” from Fauci. Richard Ebright called it a “CREID pro quo.” But Fauci said CREID was in the works “a year and a half” before 2020.

RaTG13 vs SARS2

If you’re not a pro virologist like Andersen and don’t know how to align Shi’s RaTG13 with Baric’s SARS2 sequence, your conclusion would have been, “Based on the (SARS2) genome and properties, there is no indication whatsoever that it was an engineered virus.” said Dr Richard Ebright on Jan 29th, 2020. He repeated this line to Chinese media on Feb 5th. Ebright claims Shi Zhengli published RaTG13 for $20,000.

Baric concealed the furin cleavage site during a Congressional presentation. Fauci and Baric also wanted Shi arrested for publishing RaTG13.

Matt Ridley on lab leak

Matt claims SARS2 infects humanized mice and monkeys, but no transmission. He is also obsessed with Shi’s database, but everything, including RaTG13 and Laos Banal, was on US databases. Daszak said, “That (WIV) database is somewhere in the USAID government system.”

Matt’s book Viral was based on a lie. Chapter One inferred that Shi published the RaTG13 genome on Feb 3rd. But it was uploaded to GISAID on Jan 24th, one week before the infamous Feb 1st teleconference.

Matt claimed Shi tried to hide the SARS2 furin cleavage site, but she brought attention to it. From the Proximal Origins paper: “Indeed, the availability of the RaTG13 bat sequence helped reveal key RBD mutations and the polybasic cleavage site (in SARS2).”

Bread and Circuses

The congressional committee invited three editors (Nature, Lancet, and Science) to testify but only Dr. Hodlen Thorp of Science attended. Absolutely nothing came of it. Thorp previously wrote, “Never mind that the (DARPA Defuse) experiments, which hardly posed a threat, were not conducted and were proposed by UNC scientists (Baric).” Thorp is the former UNC president, so this is a small world. Elon replied, “Prosecute Fauci and Daszak.” When I found that video in 2023, it had <500 views but now it’s over 5,000 views. Alex mentioned his subscribers aren’t interested in lab leak, but they don’t realize the NIH/Moderna mRNA patent = DARPA Defuse project.

Dr Rand Paul keeps calling Major Joseph Murphy the whistleblower.

In 2023, after the DailyMail Egyptian fruit bat story, NIAID released a statement:

“Recent online coverage has erroneously characterized a research study conducted in December 2016 at RML and published in 2018. In the study, RML researchers studied WIV-1, a coronavirus, in Egyptian fruit bats. WIV-1 is a different virus than the SARS-CoV-2 virus involved with the COVID-19 pandemic. The virus used in these experiments was not shipped from China. Rather, it was generated using common laboratory techniques, based on genetic information that was publicly shared by Chinese scientists. The research was conducted at the highest level of biosafety, BSL-4. As noted in the published manuscript, the virus did not replicate well in the bats.”

The lab leak theory came in for rough treatment almost immediately, dismissed as racist or a right-wing conspiracy theory. Anthony Fauci and former NIH head Francis Collins, representing the public health establishment, were its most notable critics. And that was enough for NPR. We became fervent members of Team Natural Origin, even declaring that the lab leak had been debunked by scientists. But that wasn’t the case.
